The widening of the A2

“Are you for it—or against it?” is a question that residents of villages in Limburg such as Holtum and Baakhoven regularly ask each other. This is because this narrow southern tip of the Netherlands is facing a substantial widening of the A2 motorway, meaning the tarmac is getting closer and closer to people’s homes. The “Neighbourhoods Platform” is offering support. With their help, any concerns about disappearing oak trees and possible inconvenience can be discussed with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Does it work?
